Eeny Meeny Christmas Craft

We were lucky enough to receive some Christmas craft samples to use and decorate to see if we could win a LED Christmas tree for our school. Although we were not one of the lucky winners, we still had fun using our imaginations on ways to decorate the styrofoam shapes. Some of our crafts were featured on Page 3 of the latest art and craft catalogue

Team Assembly - Week 8, Term 1

We hosted a team assembly this week. All of us had to stand at the front. We shared some of our letters to the Queen and sang Motueka with Ms Watts. Some lucky people received certificates for great learning. Keep it up Learning Hub 17.

Recently we took part in a New Zealand wide writing project called 'Get New Zealand Writing'. We had to each write a metaphor about ourselves on the back of a postcard and then we sent them to a school we were buddied up with in Point Chevalier, Auckland. We also completed a class poster (see the picture below) and sent that along with our Metaphor postcards.
We can't wait to receive our package from our buddy school soon.

#BanksAveRocks . - Painting Flowers on Rocks

Today Team Kahikatea did some Rock Painting. We painted our rocks with Flowers on them to put around our school and the local neighbourhood. If you find a Banks Ave Rock you can share it by sending an email to ederrick@banksave.school.nz and if you want to upload it use the hashtag #BanksAveRocks if you post it on the New Brighton Rocks or Christchurch Rocks Facebook groups.

Writing, writing, everywhere!

We took our writing out of Learning Hub 17 yesterday and wrote in the library. It was really nice to have a different setting to do our writing in.

Co-operative learning together

This morning we worked together in pairs to complete our poem which had been all mixed up. We worked cooperatively to cut it up and stick it back together. We checked we were right by reading it aloud and checking with the poem on the wall.
